Amazon "Fat Fingers" PPC Ad

Being in the search business I see some strange things from time-to-time, such as site owners implementing any variety of tricks in an effort to rank well. Often, I see poor SEM ads. Some are just written badly, while others do not even match the keyword they are displayed for.

But I think this is the first time I have seen a major brand spell their own name wrong.

Amazon PPC Ad

(In case you missed it, look at the URL on the last line.)

It is a true Amazon ad. Upon clicking, I was taken to Amazon.com's page for the Canon Digital Rebel XTi.

Slate Uncovers Fun with Google Suggest

I love Slate.com. Their articles range from informative, to shocking, to totally tongue-in-cheek.

Today, Slate takes a fun look at Google Suggest.

After a couple of months of serendipitous delights, I decided to use Suggest to conduct a serious study of human behavior. Google Toolbar makes it easy to practice armchair sociology—just conjure the first half of any question or statement, and Google fills in the back end. Want to know what questions are flummoxing mankind? Type in "is it true that." The fourth suggestion: "is it true that if you don't use it you lose it." The fifth: "is it true that ciara is a man."
